Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.  Deuteronomy  32:1

Hearken unto the words of the Elyon all you spiritual peoples whose thoughts are in heaven, and also, you down-to-earth people whose concerns are day to day living. The True Maestro is uttering words and sounds that can be “heard” even if the “hearer” does not want to hear them.  All of us are guaranteed eternal life.  Where we will be spending eternity should cause us to reflect.

The harmonious and complex song of Ha’azinu will be uttered forth by decree of the Divine Conductor this Saturday.  He directs the dazzling array of elements spanning the universe all bursting forth with pure energy in regard to the matters-at-hand.  The melody of His Utterances originally brought forth creation, now He assembles His witnesses to declare judgement for  the depravity and sin within the angelic, human, and unto all life.  One by one, we like sheep will all under go under the rod to be counted. Everything we say or do is written in the Books.

Ha’azinu is a poetic song, layered brick upon half-brick and half-brick upon brick to create for formidable structure that is firm and steadfast.  This poetic form embedded in a few rare spots within Scripture.  These songs are reserved for victory or destruction of God’s enemies.  Please take time to read it in its entirety.

The Song of Ha’azinu is sung as the elders, women and children assemble to hear Moses charge to Joshua son of Nun (Deuteronomy 31:28):

“When the Supreme One bestowed heritage upon nations, when He separated the children of man, He set boundaries of all the peoples, according the number of the Children of Israel.”  These boundaries are reflected in the constellations we see nightly in the vault above us according the Baal HaTurim.

Behold a wonder in the sky!  From just prior to dawn until after twilight on this day, an auspicious scroll of drama unfolds in the firmament above.  This will not be an event such as the recent solar eclipse or viewing of a shooting star.  This production will slowly unfurl, illuminating some of the constellations, while others await their performance behind the jet black curtain, until their story is completely borne out:

“And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.”  Revelation 12

Is this a portent?  Some say yes, while others disagree, and say it is as it has always been, occurring in September.  This time the revolution will come during the Days of Awe, another indicator for us to pay attention.  Only He in the heavens knows, as He weaves celestial and terrestrial threads together in His tapestry.  God does say, “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.”  Genesis 1:14  We can discern from the season that the time of fulfillment is not far off.

God’s witnesses come forth one by one to testify before the Divine Council with echoes of consensus in their testimony across epochs of history.  Whatever developed on earth had certainly begun with activities initiated in heaven.

”He summons the heavens above, And the earth, to judge His people.”  Psalm 50:4

”Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth; For the LORD speaks, “Sons I have reared and brought up, But they have revolted against Me.”  Isaiah 1:2

”Draw near, O nations, to hear; and listen, O peoples! Let the earth and all it contains hear, and the world and all that springs from it.”  Isaiah 34:1

“Hear, O earth: behold, I am bringing disaster on this people, The fruit of their plans, Because they have not listened to My words, And as for My law, they have rejected it also.”  Jeremiah 6:19

“Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord.”

“For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.”  Jeremiah 2:12-13

“Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.”  Isaiah 1:2

Through the landscape of our sins it may seem as though the scale of justice has tipped to the degree that there is no hope for our sinful ways.  It is at this point that God interjects, “See, then, that I, I am He; There is no God beside Me.  I deal death and give life; None can deliver from My hand.”…”It is not a trifling thing for you, for it is your very life; through it you shall endure on the land that you are to possess upon crossing the Jordan.”  Deuteronomy 32:47

As we weigh the gravity of our situation, we need to pause and remember that the Gates of Repentance are always open.  The shedding of blood is necessary for atonement so that sin can be covered, as if it never was.   The perfect Lamb’s blood, Jesus, is necessary for remission for sin, not in a continual sacrifice, but as a one time offering.

All glory, honor and power unto the Rock (refuge) for He is True, Just, Perfect, Upright!

Chazak! Chazak! Venischzeik!

Be strong! Be strong! And may we be strengthened!
